For permit, be prepared for accurate casting and listening to your guide. I fly fished for permit for the first time and was not as well prepared as I thought. The guides are great and will coach you, but at the end of the day it is up to you to cast accurately to these fish.

Bring sunscreen! Hopkins is a quiet little town full of friendly people, but there were VERY few stores open before we left, so get water, snacks, and sunscreen the night before!
